Body Fabric Consumption: At first, Merchandiser calculate the body fabric consumption. It is better if merchandiser calculate the fabric consumption by adding extra 5 GSM with buyers specified GSM for knit and reduce 2” (in width) from the both side of fabric during fabric consumption for wovn fabric
Rib Consumption: A garments merchandiser should calculate the rib consumption very carefully. Sometimes the garments have rib at cuff opening and bottom hem.
Neck tape Consumption: Neck tape consumption is also required if garments have nake tape option.
Lining & others: Sometimes garments have to use lining or other decorative issue. That should also in consumption.
Wastage estimation: For the knit items normally 10% shrinkage added. It is depend on different factors like print type. For all over print wastage% will increase and if garments have chest print it will decrease (9%). For pigment dye it will so high, near about 25-30% wastage for rejection.
